Listening

Here are some resources I have found helpful, entertaining, or uplifting, not necessarily in that order:

Michael Card -   The Ancient Faith
                           The Word
                           Soul Anchor
                           Joy in the Journey
                           Unveiled Hope
                           A Fragile Stone

All excellent music. I especially like to listen to The Ancient Faith, The Word, and Unveiled Hope back to back to back on my commute. It’s like a musical trip through the Word of God. Very refreshing!

Dr. John MacArthur - What’s so Dangerous About The Emerging Church?

This is the audio CD promo for his new book, The Truth War. Available from Grace to You, it is a conversation (recorded in 2006 I believe) with Phil Johnson. They address the issue of the emerging church from a Biblical perspective.

Eric & Polly Rapp

I’ll Remember You, Love, in My Prayers

The Rapps’ first CD features four songs by Eric, four traditional tunes, and four covers. The content ranges from secular to sacred; the sound is an intimate blend of vocals, acoustic guitar, and mountain dulcimer, without overdubs. Enjoy a private concert in your living room!

More Than Enough

Eric and Polly’s second CD features a rich baker’s dozen of originals complemented by two traditional and one contemporary gospel-style song. Guest musicians–-on violin, upright bass, harmonica, and vocals–-provide frequent and delightful accents to the Rapps’ smooth blend of guitar, dulcimer, and harmonies. And the songs themselves will make you laugh, bring tears to your eyes, and remind you that no matter how bad things look, there is Someone whose gift of grace is more than enough to compensate!
Good music, highly recommended!
